Roman glass tall jug with strap handle and diagonal ribs at body.

Rim partly restored. Richly iridescent with layers of black encrustation.

The tall jug is with globular body, long cylindrical neck and wide flaring and folded rim, on footed base. Groove incised along the inner edge of rim. One handle attached from body to rim, terminating at the rim in a folded ornament. The body is ornamented with thick diagonal ribs. The glass is richly iridescent and covered in rich layers of black encrustation, creating a metal-like effect.
