Canaanite bronze peg figurine of a god.
Late Bronze Age: 1550-1200 BC
H. 8.21 cm (3 ?¼ in.)
Perfect condition. Fine black and light green patina.

The deity is standing frontal, his lower body modelled as a peg, with pointed end, and his short arms with pointed hands are held forward. He is wearing a pointed conical crown.
The figure is depicted with schematic body, and yet the face is relatively elaborate and lively, with prominent almond shape eyes, full lips
and spread ears.
Canaanite peg figurines could have been inspired by Anatolian peg figurines.
