Byzantine Glass

Early Byzantine Adam and Eve glass amulet.
4th ??? 7th century AD.
H. 27 mm, W. 19 mm.
Ex. W.B. Private Collection, Canada, 1960-70???s.

The golden amber glass amulet, in the form of a circular pendant with a loop on top, depicts in molded relief the biblical theme of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Adam stands on the right and Eve on the left, flanking the tree, with the snake coiled around it.
