Canaanite terracotta figurine of a fertility goddess (Astarte?)
Middle Bronze Age II: 2000-1550 BC.
H. 13.4 cm. (5 1/4 in.)
Perfect Condition, pitted surface on left thigh.

The stylized figurine with flat violin shaped body and bird face with elaborate coiffure. The two short arms spread to the sides. Emphasized belly button over two dotted lines across the lower belly. Incised design decorates the torque around the neck.
