Hellenistic bronze Eros Harpocrates
2nd-1st century BC.
Height: 10.5 cm. (4 1/8 in.)
Condition: Very fine. Missing feet and left hand, cracked under left knee. Fine dark brown patina, with red spots. Mounted.

Eros, the winged chubby child god of love, is standing nude, wearing the double crown of Egypt, holding his finger to the mouth, both attributes of the Egyptian child god Harpocrates. The figure is finely modeled with twisted spiral movement, with the head turned to the left. The head with beautiful expressive face, with inlaid eyes of yellow metal. The elaborate coiffure carefully modeled, with waves of spiral locks falling on the back. The wings details are finely incised.
