Eastern Mediterranean core-formed blue glass amphoriskos.
6th-5th century BC.
H. 8.6 cm (3 3/8 in.)
Perfect condition. Hairline strain cracks at the shoulder. Fine iridescence.

The amphoriskos of elongated piriform shape with button base, cylindrical neck and flaring rim. Twin handles attached from rim to shoulders. The blue glass amphoriskos is ornamented with white glass thread around rim, white and yellow glass threads spirally wound around the shoulder and framing a central register in zig-zag pattern. The body with vertical indentations.
