Roman molded opaque white glass Medusa Janus head flask.

Rim repaired, with minute crack fillings at the neck. Fine glossy surface.

The flask with the body blown into a two-part mold, in the form of a Janus head, with two faces of Medusa back to back. A cylindrical neck with a flaring folded rim and a flat disc base. The Medusa faces are finely modeled with almond-shape eyes, small nose, fleshy lips, protruding chin, and framed by snaky hair, tied in a knot below the chin. A pair of wings at the upper sides of the head.
