Early Roman red and white glass ribbon flask.
1st century AD.
H. 7.7 cm. (3 in.).
Repaired clean break at rim, otherwise perfect.
Ex. Cyrus Collection, NY 1970.

The unguentarium (cosmetic flask) with flattened globular body, long cylindrical neck and flaring rim. The glass is made in striped mosaic technique with red and white ribbons along the neck spread down to form concentric loops at the body.
