Hellenistic deep purple core formed glass amphoriskos.
2nd - 1st century BC.
Height: 14.36 cm. (5 5/8 in.)
chip at the rim, repair at the lower neck and handles, restored knob base. Richly iridescent.

The deep purple glass amphoriskos with elongated piriform body, cylindrical neck, flaring rim and knob base. Opaque light yellow glass thread attached below the rim wound spirally around the neck and upper and lower parts of the body forming festoon pattern at the center. Two light yellow glass handles applied from the shoulder to the top of the neck.
