Early Roman purple glass ribbed bowl with white marvered trail
1st century AD.
Height: 6.25 cm. (2 1/2 in.); Diameter: 9.85 cm. (3 7/8 in.)
Fine condition. Repaired at body, restored small part of rim.

The bowl is blown with semi-spherical body, concave neck, fire polished rim and flat bottom. Vertical ribs around the body surmounted with arches. White marvered glass thread wound spirally around the bowl from base to shoulder.
